Festival Favorite Award

During its first trip to the National Buffalo Wing Festival, Hurricane Grill & Wings took home top honors at Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo, New York, where more than 74,000 people attended to vote Hurricane Grill & Wings Festival Favorite.

In addition to winning the overall Festival Favorite, Hurricane Grill & Wings competed against more than 30 local and national wing restaurant competitors to place second in the Creative Sweet Wing Sauce category for the chain’s thai ginger & garlic sauce that features toasted cashews and scallions, and third in the Creative Spicy Wing Sauce category with its spicy pina colada sauce that is similar to a coconut and habanero sauce.

In preparation for its first trip to the National Buffalo Wing Festival, Hurricane Grill & Wings urged customers participate by voting on the three sauces that should be entered in the competition with one voter winning airfare for two from Southwest Airlines, the exclusive and official airline for the National Wing Fest Fly Away promotion. The top three sauces customers selected were thai ginger & garlic, spicy pina colada and honey balsamic barbeque.

The sixth annual National Buffalo Wing Festival broke attendance records and more than 500,000 wings were served.
